Helios released an album of, well... unreleased material. I got it yesterday and have already incorporated a track into my junior film.
I love him.

so, i was thinking about how i'd like to see (and/or be able to show someone else) the final project i made for our class with byron last year. but it's 16mm. i figured you would be an excellent person to ask about the best way to go about transferring it to mini dv or to a dvd or the web or or or...

is it muchos expensive?

also, where does the film dept. have its big screenings? in the classrooms or elsewhere?

Hey a billion weeks later. Sorry for the delay, end of the semester and all.

As far as digitizing film goes, we have the elmo at school, which I've used to transfer bolex footage on (also 16mm) but the quality is always questionable. The only outside source I've ever used was Pac Lab in NY. If you just want a basic one light, unmanned transfer, it shouldn't be too much money, but I don't know offhand because I've always had them process and transfer, not just transfer, so I don't know how much it would be to do by itself. You can call there for rates, as they're not listed on the website. http://www.pac-lab.com/

I hope this was helpful.
