WIPs again

You would think I'd use my three-day weekend to finish a hair or two, but no. I started on yet another one :) It's a hair from The Sims Medieval, converted to TS3 by Anubis360 and now converted (well, almost) to TS2 by yours truly.

It looks like this right now:

conversion: ts3, conversion: tsm, wip, gos

Squeeeee!

These happen to be 3 of my favorite hairstyles, especially the one with the hat! I am so happy to see you are converting them for TS2. They look amazing.

Great job.

Everything looks fantastic :) I'm a big fan of the curls, because I feel like I've never really seen a hairstyle like that for S2. Still, they're all awesome.

And God, that mapping is just terrible. I feel bad for you just looking at it.

I like the curls, too! It just is so cool to have a mesh that has actual curls, rather than those hairs that look curly, but just when you look from the right angle.

Curls and braids FTW

I love them all! Edpecially the hat hair, but all of them are fantastic.

Hope you don't mind me sticking my nose in with some feedback. Any chance of fivehead reduction on the hair from Medieval? It's sitting kind of high at the moment. The band needs to be lower down towards the brow and the top of the head needs to come down.

Reference image for you: http://i756.photobucket.com/albums/xx206/Engram_au2/Medieval/Engramvania/Part%204/Screenshot-262.jpg

As you can see in the original there is a lot less distance between the band and the top of the head and the brow. I don't mesh so I have no idea whether this is fixable. It's looks fairly good now but I think it would look better with less fivehead. Doesn't have to match the original from Medieval exactly but less fivehead would be great.

They all look great, Marja!:D But I do agree with Engram about the fivehead on the Medieval hair.

About the mapping, it looks very much like a TS2 hair...perhaps you can just fiddle with the original textures so they look somewhat like Pooklet's? As per Aquilegia's instructions here: http://aquilegia.dreamwidth.org/20320.html?thread=147808#cmt147808

And you could use Nouk's waves in the little curls at the tips, such as Azaya has done in her latest retextures.

Oh, thanks for the link, I'll give that a go tomorrow. I am somewhat of a noob when it comes to photoshop (the shame!), so I hope it'll work out :)

I don't think Nouk's waves would work, though, because this hair doesn't consist of 2D strands like TS2 hairs, but is more 3D. I hope that makes sense.. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

I don't mind at all! In fact, I really appreciate feedback.

I actually felt there was a little too much fivehead going on there, myself, after looking at the pic of the front side. It'll be a little difficult to fix, because the hair now starts exactly where the face ends. Sims 2 hairs always seem to cause more fivehead than Sims 3 and Medieval hairs, but this probably is a tad too much. I'll fiddle with it some more tomorrow :)

I'm really excited for the medieval hair the most, but they all look great! Good job on everything, this is all greatly appreciated! In my opinion, the original texture of the medieval hair looks just fine, I don't think it needs much changing.

I am loving that hat hair, it looks so hip and cool. I would so use it on my hipster downtown sims.

Ooh, I could do with some hipster downtown sims! Mine are all pretty boring. Anyway, turned out the little 'meh' problem actually didn't even exist in game :/ Now I just have to decide in which categories the hair will show up.. I think it's supposed to be everything but swim, undies and PJ's for hat hairs. But once I fix that.. it'll be done!
