Hey, don't knock your photos! I love your photos *hugs!*
We have a Canon Rebel xti DSLR, with a 150mm lens and a 300mm lens, which is what these were taken with. I don't think the 300 is considered to be a telephoto, but it still stretches a bit more than usual ^^. T-P lenses are like a bazillion dollars and as much as we'd love one, we can't manage it anytime soon :P
We also have a tripod, which I forgot at home. I have a steady hand, but my problem is being 3/4ths blind, I have a habit of taking blurry photos. So I take a lot of them , of every subject, hoping one comes out okay. S is better at this than I am.
And as for the subjects, it wasn't all that tricky. The chipmunk was taken through a nature-center window, the turtle is a rehab-captive, and the rest are denizens of my old haunts, where I know where and when they will be there. I don't have half the luck around here, yet. ^^; (For example those birds have nested in the same box since way back when.<3)
