WE GOT A DOG
ONE FINE MONDAY, DAD ROUSED ME FROM BED WITH HALF AN HOUR NOTICE TO PREP. I RUSHED THROUGH PROJECT DELEGATIONS BEFORE PREPPING IN 15. WE WENT DOWN TO PASIR RIS FARM FOR LIKE, AN HOUR AND WE DECIDED, WE'RE GONNA BRING THIS ALASKAN MALAMUTE HOME.
I WAS LIKE ?!?!?!?!?!? IN SHOCK THE WHOLE TIME.
We've been saying it for like, forever now, so it's pretty damn surreal, carrying that ball of fluff on our laps home, naming and whatnots. Was in a pissy mood on the way down cos dad always does this to my plans (was supposed to meet Gids for project + Cindy for dinner) but all that negative chi dissipated when we got to the farms. Of course walking to the pet stores felt like some form of sensory assault; I thought I was gonna faint from the combined stench (think wet dogs) in the air-conditioned store. Went to the Ericsson Pet Farm after, where I saw THE CUTEST CHOW CHOW (white), kitty cats and this Alaskan Malamute.
At the start we were like, so... what's the difference between this and a husky and why'd we have to pay x 4 a husky's price for it?? Turns out this little guy (or not so little) was flown over from Victoria, Melbourne just three weeks ago. 4.5 months old, he's at his cutest size now, awww. It was a hefty price tag though. Malamutes cost 7.5-8k, and his food comes at a premium price too. Try 2k. 200 bucks for shampoo + serum. Dog has a better life than I do!
Brought him back, learnt how to carry, feed, groom and shower for him.. carried up a tonne of dog food and.. all this while forgetting that we're not supposed to shower him with attention or affection just yet. We have to establish the alpha role + dominance! But look at his faceeeee. It's a face that doesn't need to apologise for anything, ever. How could anyone scold / hate on a face like that :< Like I said, boy's only 4.5 months old and I know he's gonna break my heart. Zak, Pres and Hadi came over to visit after + head over to ECP to pay our final respects (lol) to the closing outlets there, le sigh. Some sorta NParks initiative. Can't wait to bring him out + train him up + bring him for walks + totally spoil him and shower him with love. Hehe. Love @ first sight. Think I've found my soulmate.
