Paradigm Shift

I am with you on this, and am trying to overcome my own pessimism about whether it can be fixed or not. I have a niece who has, over the years, become rabidly pro-2nd amendment, and the stuff she posts on her Facebook page really disturbs me. It leaves no room for debate or compromise.

ps--good to see you posting!

My biggest concern with a potential repeal of the Second Amendment is what amendment will be next?

The students that joined in the recent protests regarding gun laws could teach some adults how to properly conduct a protest. To my knowledge, they were all peaceful. They were acts of civil disobedience not destruction of neighborhoods. The teachers that taught them about the part of the First Amendment regarding peaceful assembly and petitioning the government for a redress of grievances should be proud. The kids were clearly listening when that lesson was taught.

A lot of things should be taught at home, but some parents fail their children in that regard. Knowledge is power, I think some people are afraid of that.
