Oh my goodness this is amazing. I love where you took the story, how the parallels between the civil rights movement and mutants become all the more explicit, and I love that X-Force still shows up, though they aren't terribly helpful in the '50s. This is a fantastic idea, and though the reduced amount of explosions probably wouldn't have sold as many comic books, I still wish something like this could have happened instead.

You should totally crosspost to cabledeadpool... I mean, if you weren't already planning to. I know they'd love it over there.

Oh good, I'm glad you like the direction (time) I took the story. One of the things I always loved about the X-Men was that tie-in to civil rights and the experiences of any group of outcasts. So the 50s/60s just seemed like a good time for Hope to experience.

I loved the image of X-Force armed to the teeth vs. the nice normal 50s neighborhood and I just had to use it.

Wade was around, I'm sure he managed to casue at least a few explosions :p But yes, I would have loved to see something like this as well. Thank you for prompting me to write it!
