I ran across that yesterday - I think it's my favorite musical flashmob ever. Not in least because I've walked through the Philadelphia Macy's, and can totally imagine how fabulous it must have sounded in person.

i seriously want to grab all the singers i know and go do this somewhere. i think i posted at one point about going to diesel in boston with points and wolfkitn and her sweetie, and almost getting thrown out for breaking into the "hallelujah chorus" there, so there's a precedent!

Several groups have done similar things - YouTube is filled with same.

Here is one from Welland ON (on the Welland canal between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario), when the local choral group did flash-culture-in-the-food-court. Loads of similar events in the "related" column on the right of the YouTube page.

I would probably have joined in myself, had I had the good fortune to find myself flashmobbed - I know I joined in when I first saw the YouTube clip.
