We (meaning The Boston Cecilia) sang that once -- in Italian, I'm pretty sure.To each their own, to be sure, but I've never really gotten the appeal of Respighi.

i probably sang it in 1975 or 1976 and i still remember large sections of it. i can't say why i liked and like it so much but there are just parts of it that i find wonderful. in this version, the glorias are faster than i want them to be--you can't hear the bell-like quality--also, i think there are sections that they had the men do in four parts that we did SATB because i remember singing them--they're some of the bits i have memorized.

this is the only respighi that i know so i can't say whether i would like the rest of his works, but i've always liked this one.
