So being the animation dork that I am, I was chillin in bed while Matthew took a nap today, and caught Pocahontas on the Disney Channel. It's not my favorite Disney movie, but it got me all nostalgic. I miss the days where I would get SO excited each year over the newest 2D release. Literally I would clip every article nad find every picture I ( Read more... )

After about 10 minutes of sitting there thinking, I had to refrain from looking through my closet of movies. I think I'd pick:

1. Little Mermaid. I wore out like 3 tapes of that movie. Yea.. tapes. [laughs]
2. Anastasia. One of my all time FAVORITE movies.
3. Balto. Between the wolves and the alaskan layouts.. squee.
4. A Goofy Movie. It reminds me so much of the early 90's, but I love it. Everything about Max's character was so cool.
5. Finding Nemo. I lovelovelove the details they put into it.

1. Beauty and the Beast
2. The Incredibles
3. Alvin and the Chimpmunks *the world adventure/balloon race*
4. Lady and the Tramp
5. Snoopy, come home

Ummmm and if Bedknobs and broomsticks counts, it'd be up there. It's a tricky mix up.

Oh, awesome list. I must admit I'm not especially wild about Lilo and Stitch, but I've only seen it once, so I should probably give it another chance. I do love Lady and the Tramp of course. The only bad thing about it is that damn song (the Italian-ish one) gets stuck in my head for weeks after I watch it. ;) I love Hunchback though. The music is just beautiful and I loved them trying something different from the usual. And Spirited Away is just amazing. I didn't see it until a couple months ago, but I was just blown away by it. Absolutely gorgeous movie. And of course I'm a big Toy Story fan as well. And I love Hercules, Cinderella, Aladdin, Secret of NIMH, and The Last Unicorn. :D

Have you ever seen Thumbelina or Quest for Camelot? Those were always some of my non-Disney favorites as a child. As far as Disney goes, my favorite is probably Sleeping Beauty. The music is gorgeous and Malificent is my favorite villain ever. :D I also love Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, and Pocahontas. ;)

And somehow I forgot two of my favorites- Anastasia, which is probably my favorite animated movie ever, and Balto. Anastasia has beautiful design and a great story and absolutely fabulous music. And Balto's just sweet and cute and nice. :)

Man, only five? That is such a hard choice......

1. Last Unicorn (because it's just a favorite and one of those movies I watched all the time when I was little).

2. Lady and the Tramp (again, another movie I watched a lot when I was little and my dog looked like the Tramp so it has even more love).

3. Flight of Dragons (another childhood classic and I am waited with baited breath for it to actually come out on DVD)

4. Spirit (ok, so the story is not all that great, but I'm a complete horse crazy girl and some of the facial expressions they got are wonderful as are some of the scenes)

5. Beauty and the Beast (because I love it and have a brand new appreciation for it after seeing the rought draft that one of our art people brought in. Just wow...)

And of course, runner up include: Balto, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, The Iron Giant, Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mulan, and Pixar's films. And I totally understand what you mean about Cats Don't Dance. I love that movie and am sad that it doesn't get much acclaim anywhere.

Me too! I haven't heard any recent news about it though. I have it on tape, but it's a tape I've had since I was little, so it's getting to be horrible quality.

I'm going to leap on that though as soon as it comes out. Hopefully it'll be better quality than the Last Unicorn DVD though.

Guh, I don't even have it on tape, so I can't even imagine when the last time I saw it was... probably over 10 years ago, but I can still remember it clear as day. I want it so bad. And my copy of The Last Unicorn is really old... I need it on dvd before the tape breaks.
Maybe they'll do it like The Hobbit. I found a copy of the dvd for that for a dollar at a grocery store, haha...
