Did you have it cold or warm? It actually tastes a lot more like coke at room temperature, and I don't even like warm soda.
Not saying it is "good" just not AS bad when warm. Sweeter and peppier at room temp. That's why I drink Diet Coke ice cold - it tastes flat at room temp and peppery at 50 or fewer degrees.
Ah, c2. When someone I know was part of a test group and was able to pass around some of the stuff, I was able to try a sip before it came out. Thus I saved myself from every making the mistake of buying an entire bottle.
I made a decision long ago: If pop is going to give me cancer anyway, I may as well drink the variety that will give it to me more slowly and also tastes better (i.e. non diet).
It's funny, though. I used to be a diet soda afficianado (sp?) and my parents wouldn't touch the stuff. But now they've discovered a modified South Beach Diet and drink nothing but diet pop. Luckily, they buy regular for us kids!
Of course, I don't much like pop much to begin with and when I do drink it, I seldom finish a whole can. Except the funny kinds like Big Red, fruity flavors and fizzy lemonade (which is super hard to find!!).
