The Dark Horse Era Comes To An End

I love reading your posts about your history with Star Wars. I learn new things about it.

That being said, I now need to stock up on all the comics I have been lazing about to buy.

In depth and personal post, good to see the analysis. I will miss the titles; I hope that, like Groo, Star Wars can bounce around and retain quality. If there are no more clone wars or prequel stories, that is sad; Rebels/intertrilogy holds my interest. Honestly, Luke, Leia and Han do not, not anymore after reading about them since 1977, though I've read Mindor and other novels with them that were well done.

Even back in the days when I was reading some of the Star Wars novels I wasn't buying much in the way of Star Wars comics from Dark Horse, but even after those days I could unbend enough for a few things that seemed far off some hypothetical "main line," including the manga versions of the old movies, "The Star Wars" adaptation of the "rough draft" right now, and the trade paperbacks reprinting the old Marvel issues... which I suppose just layers in a little more ambiguity to this "unsurprising news." I'd absolutely agree about Marvel not being what it once was when it was trying to make comics about popular movies, not have its comics made into popular movies. Again, though, I suppose we're once more facing a "blank slate" and imagining some people expecting their every opinion to now be catered to.
