Oh Dean... This is beautifully descriptive and I love how you use the photographs to give the sense of time and backstory. They really do feel like little snapshots of the last year.

He picks up the last photograph. It's blurred, as if maybe Dean's hands were shaking when he took it. But then Sam wipes his eyes and he realises it's not the photograph that's blurred.
Oh Sam...

I demand schmoop. Anything to make this quivery sadness go away. :(

I love you. I am still very nervous in a new fandom; it's so hard to get the voices.

Sam cries so nicely, doesn't he?

You have no need to be nervous. I understand it - after all, that's one of the reasons I made a new journal, so I could deny all knowledge if it turned out my SPN fic was utterly rubbish - but I know your writing and that tiny little piece up above is too awesome to be an indication of anything other than how you need to write more. :)

Now that I've caught up with your other persona, I'm looking forward to exploring your fic. I remember you mentioning it and then it slipped away into internetland, where things can never be found again. Note to self: act on posts at once.

Don't know the canon, but there's something big about this, about all those descriptions of photos. I like the slightly laconic style, and the last, lovely image.

The canon comes highly recommended. Two pretty male actors who can - this is the unusual bit - act well enough to hold the show (vital, since I prefer ugly talent to pretty mediocrity). Good plot. Strong minor characters. Angst not just in spades but the whole garden shed.

I kicked like stink for a few weeks, then gave up and went under. I'm still under. I'm happy. I love this show.

Oh, and story arc as well as 'monster of the week'. If you are interested, I can recap, or provide, ah, useful links by email.

I'm really glad you liked this. I sweated every word, in the way that you do with short stories. This is more than two months work, and I know without looking which words I'm still not 100% happy with!

Sam and Dean are brothers. Series 3 is showing now, but some events have been set in motion which the story anticipates, so it is futurefic, if you like.

Thanks for the offers. Believe me, I'd love to be watching it (two pretty actors indeed!), but I'm just too much of a scaredy-cat. Every time it comes on TV, I end up changing channels when it gets to te spooky bits, which in some episodes means I spend half my time on the remote!

Oh prettyprettypretty. I agree with everyone else, you need to write more. ^^

Thank you! This took about two months - unfamiliar canon, and getting it right on a word level (some words are still not the right ones). Also being British is a major handicap, in the same way that it's a huge plus when writing HP. I live and breathe Brit culture; with US anything could be wrong!

*hugs the boys*

I'm a Dean girl through and through. You?

I am glad you liked this. It was hard work - in fact it's the only thing I've produced this summer, and I bled guts over it. (Though watching and rewatching AHBL wasn't so bad...!) I am falling for this canon, in the way that you know you're falling when you find yourself thinking of it at quiet times of the day...

And there is so much good SPN fic out there! It's - awesome!

This is evocative of some awfully deep-lying stuff, and I can feel the underlying arc of emotion even without having seen a single episode of the show. I love your imagery.

The show is well worth seeing, if you like angst. I've fallen so deeply for it that I may never climb back out. Sam and Dean are brothers, and there is a backstory here but I don't want to spoil anything for you if you intend to get into the show. I'm really glad you liked it. It took *months* to write!
