I guess the advantage of having lots of Asian immigrants/influence on local cooking is that rice noodles are READILY AVAILABLE here, and yes, are just as cheap as they should be (which is very) and mm they are tasty and versatile. At least you seem to have a good Asian import shop.
Crap, I just went to the grocery shop then and I forgot to get tamari and now I want delicious rice noodles in garlic/soy/honey sauce and I HAVE NO SOY :( :( :(
they are totally fail! we have a pretty large Asian student population here, though, so we do have a good Asian market. :(((( and I just figured out how to cook them properly, too! even how to fry them! and I can't find them at a price I'm willing to pay at a damn grocery store ANYWHERE. And of course the Asian food market is on the other side of Eugene than the one I usually frequent and it takes more energy than I really want to spend to drive all the way over there.
but it was reeaaally emmbaaarrrassssiiiiing Q____Q Sunburn! at the cancer fundraiser!
Well, I can find them, but they're all American brands and expensive! I want the type that does not say THAI KITCHEN on it! The type with Thai script on it and badly translated directions on how to make them! :(

Well THAT might be harder. Although the ones we have here aren't very expensive - they're not under $2 bucks a package, but not a whole lot more than that.
Oh, god, I am not even following TRC or Holic anymore. I've given up on CLAMP.
Skin cancer at the cancer walk...Edward says to tell you 'What did you think would happen? It's fundraising for the Cancer Society--obviously they're trying to recruit new membes.' I'll hit him for you when he gets home.

A quick google says you could order them online, but I'm not sure whether the price would work out as reasonable with shipping?

Dude, such a serious thing as skin cancer should not have just made me cackle like a hyena.
You can't find rice noodles??? Weird. We've got rice noodles at our local Kroger.
