I just had to do that recently. Review my own canon, I mean. In the first chapter of Cyberpunk, I'd said Ohno had one purple eye. Then by chapter five, that eye was somehow blue. So I went back and changed the first mention to blue, because IT'S OHNO, HIS IMAGE COLOR IS BLUE.

Authors are allowed to rewrite their own canon / change their minds. It happens all the time!
