<3 I really like the second one (where Ensei says he was worried).
Uhh, I think this is from the manga since I can't find it in the anime, but in the scene where Seiran has a match with Sou-taifu, Sou-taifu specifically thinks that Seien should be about 26 now if he were alive.
Seiran is 26 at the start of the series. He claims to be 21; obviously he is lying. By this reckoning he was 13 when he was exiled, and either 13 or 14 when he was taken in by Shouka (depends on when his birthday is, really). Which means that he and Ensei took down the Satsujinzoku within that time period. Ensei, I believe, is a year older than Seiran, so he would have been 14 or 15 when all this occurred.
I have spent . . . waaaaay too much time pondering the Saiunkoku timeline and crosschecking the anime with the novels. The only real differences between the two continuities is in the smaller details of when/what occurs; the major things, it seems, are still the same.
I am receiving much joy in return for stalking your lj, oh much joy. This has been an excellent week in terms of Saiunkoku fandom.
And I'm very much amused by the interaction between the two, oh yes. The deadly side of Seiran is really coming out a lot in these. I really like numbers 2 and 4 (because anything that mentions Seiran and Ryuuki brotherly cuteness always gets me), but my favorite is definately number 3. Four sentences of great beauty and balance, exquisite imagery. A slight tweak and it'll be absolutely perfect. I have endless admiration for anyone who can convey that much power in a micro-scene, especially given my tendency to ramble for pages and pages.

Hope that you'll post more of this soon!
