2. Win 7 is not nearly the virus that XP and Vista were, but your alternate booting sounds very l33t and exciting.
3,4,6. I am a vocal proponent of protection plans, partially because I have a habit of dropping laptops on the ground. But... for a neoprene case? I can see your scepticism.
5. Devil Survivor! OMG, it's so good. My initial reaction was 'So... Atlus looked at TWEWY and went "a new kind of adventure game set in an alternate Tokyo/Shibuya huh? We can do that." It is very dark and the lack of touch controls on many things annoyed me a bit, but I highly recommend pretty much all SMT games, so... yeah. Have fun. ^__^

So far Devil Survivor is pretty interesting, although I wasn't really expecting 'So we went around and this SRPG thing sounded awesome?'
I think the lack of tech interest is probably due to the fact that it is, of course, mostly a dating game with added horror elements, so they needed the space to make sure you could have endings where you date everybody.
I'm thinking, your little techie friend is gonna die, and I'm not so sure about Boobies, either.

Win7 is being a bitch in my direction currently, as it apparently made my father's netbook give itself a password which no-one can figure out. So we have this new thing sitting there blinking merrily in our direction, and nobody can do anything with it. We are not off to a very good start, I think. I'm glad yours is going better. ♥
