And they did -what- to the creepy old dude? *facepalm* If they were trying to make him less creepy, they failed.
I actually never got the hang of the slot machines, probably because I wasn't willing to sit and play for hours on end, which would've taught me the system. I do like the logic puzzle aspect of Voltorb Flip; it's almost like Minesweeper, to which I have a small addiction ^^a
You and me both! Flip /is/ a lot like Minesweeper.... of which I am not so good at. Hence my own personal rule: If I get past 10 Coins I call it quits and start again. Managed to get over 1,000 coins that way. Now, only 1,100 more to go to get that Dratini.... [facepalm]
Also, do you know the reason why they put in Voltorb Flip instead of slot machines? From what I heard, the EU and a few other countries were throwing a fit about how the Casino was glorifying gambling, thus making our impressionable youth think excessive gambling was O.K. Which I can kinda understand... Gambling, like all things, is good in moderation. 14 hours straight, on the other hand...
Besides, I don't mind da Flip. Actually kinda fun, although its a definite case of YMMV.
XD I usually go until I'm pretty sure I'm out of logical spaces. I've gotten to the second round twice so far; don't remember how many coins I've accumulated in all, though - it's been a while since I've flipped.
Mm, I'm not surprised; the EU releases of previous games (not sure which gens specifically, but at least third plus) had you finding random amounts of coins on the casino floors once a day instead.

See what annoys me is that you can't buy the damn coins anymore, which is clearly what the original games meant for you to do!
