I actually read this a while ago and forgot to comment, so -

THIS IS AMAZING. I love it so much, you have no idea. It's Riku! And Arthur! And Mickey! And fucking huge flying lizards full of magic!

I adored the reasoning behind Riku's weird arm cast thing and how Arthur couldn't for the life of him remember the names of his servants. And Riku learning courtly manners via Maleficient, just. *flails* Uther's grief and Riku's journey and Arthur being so Arthur and-

This is utterly fantastic. I really like how you included things like why Riku's arm-thingamabob (Riiiiku! why didn't you just get Sora's name tattooed on in ink like a normal person? - and yes, I double checked with a listing of phonetic characters that my first instinct of what it said was correct, but really what else could it have been?), and what his coat is made of (OMG dragonhide), and Riku getting a Keychain, and you just made it so clear without actually saying it outright that Merlin simply hadn't arrived yet and this is occurring while Sora is asleep. Also, Arthur's brain literally unable to reconcile Mickey's form and insisting he is a short man with large ears, wow, it's like he's an eldrich being rather than an anthropomorphic mouse, but it works well. And hee hee, Riku knows courtly manners (admittedly, learned from Malificent, but whatever), and Mickey considers him a knight! Love this.

This is just so much crazy brilliance, and exactly what I had hoped to find. ARTHUR IS RIKU'S TEMPORARY PARTY MEMBER. THE BOSS DRAGON DROPS A CLAW THINGY. ARTHUR GIVES RIKU A *KEYCHAIN.* And all of this awesomeness occurs amidst a lovely story about two lonely boys who need a friend; one who needs someone he knows, and one who needs someone he hasn't even met yet. Loved the entire section of the keyhole closing; beautiful, stunning imagery.

Riku is totally Mickey's knight. XD

Unfortunately, you've gone and planted a plot bunny, and now I am thinking about a KH/Merlin fusion. Oh, Hell, I'm already plotting out Merlin's 'Awakening' in my head. Right down to what should be depicted on his stain glass window platform thingies.
