There IS a God ... And he hates stupid people

Tech Support: "Thank you for calling Tech Support, how may I help you?"
Customer: "Yes, is this the help desk?"
Tech Support: "Yes sir, it is; how may I help you?"
Customer: (in a very strained and excited voice) "I can't go to the bathroom!"

Understandably, I was shocked.

Tech Support: "Sir... ( Read more... )

Tech Support: Hello, how may I help you?
Customer: I need to talk to the most-important person there! Something's terribly wrong with the internet!
Tech Support: (lying) Well, the most important person would be me. What can I do for you?
Customer: I've been browsing for hours and it's Crap! It's All Crap!!!

BAAAAAHAHAHAHA!

see, had it been ME- i would have told him a tech team was on the way, and hung up. but i'm a bitch that way. of course i probably woulda missed the "oh god!! my PANTS!!" bit, but i woulda hightailed it over to the security desk to watch it on video. come to think of it, you should see if you can bribe the security folks into giving you that tape so you can spread the image of some corporate moron makin buttbiscuits in his pants for all the world to see!!

BAAAHAHAHAHAHA!

Unfortunately, like many others, I suspect that was a prank call - But it so SHOULD be true ... You wouldn't believe some of the calls I've taken in my time

oh i would so. my best friend is also a tech support guy, and he's posted some of the funnier calls in his journal a few times. he even found a website full of tech support audio files that some poor frustrated sap put together to vent his spleen on the world at dumb customers.

i'll try and find the site for you if you're interested.

i'm generally very gullible, and i want to believe this story so badly, but maybe whoever-it-was is right. this has to be a prank. but it's the mother of all prank calls, and i'd love to have the balls to pull it on my mate in technical support. or our accountant. or the air conditioning people. brilliant!

Upsetting tech support is easy

1) Forget that tech support are people, not their employer

2) Forget that the kind of person who becomes tech support actually wants to help you and treat them like your worst enemy

3) Have no information available (such as what you bought, what you did or what actually happened)

4) Insist that tech support do something that is not their job, but yours

5) Shout, swear, be rude

6) Pay no attention to what is asked of you

7) Argue

8) Lie

9) Threaten to have their boss fire them

Best of all, call up about something that has nothing whatsoever to do with the product(s) manufactured by the company you are calling and waste everyone's time

oh i so badly want to believe this is NOT a prank.
if it is, it's brilliant, and it ought to be replicated with out tech guy, our accountant, our air conditioning repair man. absolutely brilliant.
