Dimitri Needs Some Love

[Dimitri Allen enters the lobby confused. How could he be just walking out of his apartment, and ending up in such a strange place? He looks around him and raises an eyebrow. This isn't even scientifically possible unless the medication he obtained from the doctor was acting up at him

[Dimitri's here, now? Well. Clive can't say that he doesn't approve of the potential company, honestly, and he waves in greeting.]

New here, I presume?

Well, finding things isn't hard here. The place seems to provide anything that any of us could wish for, except an exit in some cases. So really, it's just the purpose of the machine that's an issue...

I feel like there isn't much this place would need, that a machine could fulfill.

Or perhaps that's just me being pessimistic.

But it's not for this place that we're doing it, it's to give ourselves something to do. Why does it even need to be useful? We can just make something fun, Dimitri.

Heh, I guess your right.

I don't know, everything I've made in my years of being a scientist, I've been used to making things usefully, and a leap in scientific discovery. I've never made anything fun before, nor have I had an idea.

But I think we can do that. Any ideas?

[Dimitri looks around at his resources, trying to obtain an idea of his own.]

A-ah, well... there is one thing, and I'd always wanted to make something like this but it was never helpful, and anyway I never had any reason to before. Well... I suppose there's no real reason now, but it's something to do and I always already had something to do so there's that...

[He trails off, looking awkward. Truth be told... he'd always had the interest in mechanics, and it's only after the explosion that he'd turned that interest towards his fortress and the underground London. Now, though, there's no real reason - besides it seeming childish and embarrassing - not to try for the goal that had given him an interest in mechanics originally.]

The thing is, I'd like to maybe try making... toys. If you'd like.

[Thinking a moment, he nods.]

I think we could do that. You have to help me though. I'll have to teach you how somethings work, Hm?

[Clive always wanting to make toys. The idea made Dimitri giggle, of course, who was he to judge? He wasn't. So, he figured, let the toy making commence.]

[The giggle makes Clive's cheeks flush angrily, and he looks away with a defensive huff.]

You don't have to join me, if you're only going to laugh. I was only trying to help you find something to do.

[timesugarcoated]

[Dimitri shakes his head.]

No, don't get me wrong, I think it's a great idea. I always wanted kids, and I thought when that time would come, I'd pick up that habit.

[He ruffles his hair.]

Do you forgive me?

Ehh... I guess I do.

...well... I don't think I'm ever going to be having kids, myself. But... I like them, even if I never wanted them myself, and when I was a kid myself I always used to get bored with my own toys real fast. That's why I wanted to make my own. But then... well, everything happened. It was sort of the least of my worries after that.

I understand that.

Yeah, I think I'm passed my prime of getting married and having kids, but eh, you're young enough. Go out and get married already.

[He laughed at his joke, already trying to think of designs.]

[Clive coughs, looking away and flushing crimson.]

I, uh. Me getting married isn't something I can ever see happening, Dimitri.

...well. Not unless there are some significant changes to the law, at least.

[Dimitri nods, thinking.]

Oh...um, I mean, you're...I don't mean to insult you, but are you attracted to men?

[Too straightforward? Oh well, he hoped Clive would understand that he knew where he was coming from.]

[Clive looks like he nearly swallows his tongue at hearing it that bluntly, and from Dimitri as well, but once he's recovered he nods sharply.]

Ah... y-yeah. So, like I said, I doubt I'll ever be marrying or having children, no?

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be so blunt. I...I brought it up because it's nothing new to me. I mean, you shouldn't be worried about what I think because I understand.

Yeah, hm, now I need someone else to get married and have children, so I can spoil them.

Well, I don't know if there's any chance of that happening here, certainly... I mean, well, the only woman I've even seen here so far is Mother.

[He pauses a moment, then frowns.]

What do you mean, it's nothing new to you?
