Wow, this thing has serious compatibility issues, you're right. It's most issues with resolution sizes. You need to attempt to code your layouts so that they look the same in all resolutions, so that others can read your page as well. Not all of us have the same browser, OS, and resolution, right?
I won't lie, the text looks like shit. And the journal text is kind of difficult to read with being posted on top of a photo like that.
You have a LOT to learn about composition and design, but hell, my first layout wasn't exactly award winning either.
I'm not really in the mood to go full-out right now, so I'll just let you know that IE doesn't support transparency in PNG files, which is part of the ugliness. Other than that, you just need to start using more uniform code.
Ugh I have the same problem.. I have safari too and my livejournal looks amazing to me but then to others it looks like shit. i wish there was a way to fix this problem.
