Just fixed the entry HTML. Don't know what happened. The code is missing so that you can save the image yourself at TinyPic or PhotoBucket and simply insert your own background or one of the ones provided.
There is no real header provided. The slim color is supposed to be there. It is part of the design. But if you look at the bottom of the coding there is a section where you can put a header of your own.... like I did on my journal and like here at this comm (Layout Lounge logo is a header).
So at the very bottom of coding is headerimage coding. Put the image link where it says to and then make sure the width and height are the same width and height as the image.
I love the background image too and love the old fashion look of it. Also if you need me to help out like I use too... let me know.
Thanks, I'll give it a whirl on Monday and let you know if I need any help. :)
There's one thing though - on both my computer and the iPod, the text in the reply box comes out so light I can hardly read it once it's posted. Is it supposed to be that way?

(Your entry's HTML is a little wonked, though, and the background image link is missing from the code.)

I LOVE the background image - like old fashioned wallpaper, and would love to use it provided I could use my own header.
