Creating Your Own PhotoBucket to Store Icons and more

Mar 26, 2013 12:25

Objective: Creating a LJ art storage place

1. Go to www.photobucket.com and create an account. Once you have an account log in.

2. You'll see your user name to the right. Click the pull down arrow and choose User Settings.

3. In User Settings click Albums.

4. Scroll down a little and check mark the circled items in this image and then click the Upload Options link.

5. You'll see this window pop up. You want to choose the largest setting so images like headers don't become too small for your journal. Click Save which will take you back to the Album Settings. Click Save there too.

6. Go to the Library link at the top. You should see something like the image below only without images in it. I've circled some things. Upload which will take you to an easy uploader. It will give you a drop down menu to choose a folder you want to save to should you have multiple folders.

Another this circled here is Create New Album. This is basically a new folder under your main album. This way you can have all your favorite fandom icons in one folder. This is necessary if you want to have multiple mood themes saved as most moods have the same name on images.

The last circle is your Links. Direct Link is what you'd put in the insert image window when posting to LJ or even the link you'd put in for a background or header image for the layouts I make.

Another thing to note is the Organize link above the images. If you click this it takes you to a window where you can select multiple images to add tags, get mass links for posting, move to different folders or even do a mass delete.
