Exactly! I hadn't thought of it that way. I've basically just been randomly bursting out into incoherent rage ever since that Elvis Stojko interview came out. The AfterElton commentary helped me explain why his whole "GTFO it, gay community" thing was so offensive. And since I haven't been watching the Olympics, I didn't realise just how much the commentators were treating Johnny Weir as if he's not a real athlete.
