TBH, 2009 kinda sucked. And I'm not all that optimistic about 2010 right now. So here's my one and only new year's resolution, courtesy of The Mountain Goats: "I am gonna make it through this year if it kills me."

I'm always hesitant to say that the years can't get *that* much worse, but I will say that there's always hope and there are always specific things that can make a given year that much better.

You are loved, and part of what makes this world a beautiful place. I'm going to wish you a happy new year, and I hope the rest of life follows suit. *hugs*

Thanks, I hope things get better too. It just doesn't feel like it right now.

I know I'm loved, and I definitely believe that's important. I don't think I'd be here without it. It's just...I don't know, love and $200 will get me a week's worth of migraine meds, you know? And when I wrote this post I'd just come from seeing a new neurologist who just didn't *get that*, so I was pretty down about it. I know the song seems depressing, but acostilow and I have been using it for a couple years now to get us through the hard times. It acknowledges that life may be sucking A LOT right now, but there may be something to hope for out there, feasting and dancing and carefree happiness in Jerusalem, so we're gonna keep fighting till it gets here, even when it seems like the fight is gonna kill us.
