I'm with Thena on this one. The bit where Penny punched him? Nice. I actually think it took a pretty big middle finger to mysogeny. Wolowitz has spent the whole series objectifying women, it's about time someone told him what a total skeeve he was being.
Also, yes, I am aware I valley girl-ed that last sentence. I'm sorry.
Howard was a sexist pig to Penny, as usual, and she told him off like he's had coming for the entire series. She told him that nothing was ever going to happen between them and he was just pathetic and creepy. And then he got his feelings hurt and went off and sulked at his mother's for two days, right when the other guys wanted his help with their battle bot type robot. So Leonard made her go apologise, even though she was totally right. And it was portrayed as if *she* was the one who went too far, and that she in fact *owed* him that apology. He's been treating her like crap for over a year, and when she finally seriously calls him on it, *she's* in the wrong. Yes, she did get to punch him in the face, but the overall theme remained. He didn't learn anything and came out of it believing that she had been wrong and he had been right. Status quo.
