Before you go "listing ten random songs from your music library is a stupid exercise", I agree. I think it's boring. (And I'm mainly doing this because I don't have new cat pictures.) So I'm going to actually upload the songs. That way you can download them, hopefully making it marginally less boring. I'm also going to use the new iTunes

this Genius thing sounds a lot like Pandora Radio (at pandora.com). There you can feed them a song or artist (or two or twelve) and they'll build a radio station just for you.

Then if they play a song you like, you give it the thumbs-up and they pick more song with similar qualities.

If they play a song you don't like, give it the thumbs-down. It immediately stops playing and they never ever ever play it again on your station.

It is pretty much awesome, and the only way I hear new music anymore.

Yeah, I listen to Pandora Radio too. I think the last two songs I bought I found through Pandora. :) The Genius thing uses the music you already own. You start with one song you own, then it generates a playlist of other songs you own that are similar (in some way I can't figure out). And it also suggests songs in the iTunes store that are similar, but I haven't used that feature.
