hee, the spider thing didn't bother me at all, I just didn't hear Gollum in it until you mentioned it, but I suppose you're right! I just was thinking creepy spiders! I love how he didn't hear the spiders until he put the Ring on! Makes sense to me! I know I sure wouldn't want to hear what was happening in a spider brain! :D

Oh, Smaug! I did love Smaug so much! And Bilbo of course! Too many long, drawn-out orc chases for my taste, though. I wanted more quiet character development and slashy potential and did not get that from this second movie, *sigh*

If you go see it again, tell me what you think of the spider's voice. I tried googling but there doesn't seem to be any mention of Andy Serkis being it ( the voice ).

Glad you enjoyed it! It'll still be a few weeks before I can see SMAUG and Bilbo the Brave.

Glad you enjoyed it! I didn't notice the way the spiders talked... I wonder if Andy Serkis did the voices? And yes, Benedict did both Smaug and the Necromancer. Creeeeepy.

Saw the movie a second time last Saturday, this time in 3D. And the spiders still sounded like Gollum! I googled it up but couldn't find anything on who did the voices for the spiders.

I liked it better than the first one. It didn't seem quite so long to me. Smaug was awesome. I wish there had been a bit more Bilbo but overall it was good. I like that they showed him getting drawn in by the ring. I do like that they are connecting this with the ring in LoTR. I wished the part with Beorn had been a little different. He was one of my favorite parts of the book. I'm not sure what I wanted to see though. With the spiders, I was too busy helping my kid hide her head to really notice the voices. She hates spiders and we knew it was coming. Tauriel was a pleasant surprise.

I really, really love Tauriel. She's such a kickass! Me and hubby were a bit tickled about Legolas though, he was broader than before! Still pretty though :))
