I am now officially among the ranks of the unemployed. My last day at the News-Miner was July 24th; then I was traveling, and now I am back, taking stock and figuring out what the future holds for me

1. If you wish, I will still put you in contact with Roger Klorese of Prism, so that you and he can discuss where you might best shop around Hunter's Moon. And I suggest that doing so would be a good thing; Roger is very savvy about the graphics business.
2. Have you asked if you can test out of any of your lower division (freshman level) credits? If you're not sure, ask. Worst they can do is say "no."
1. Oh! Yes, I would love that! I had actually completely forgotten we'd had that conversation -- I got so buried in work stuff that all plans of shopping HM around to publishers and/or trying to self-publish the book had gone completely out of my head. You have my email, right?
2. I *think* I'm mostly okay on the lower-division classes, except for a couple that have been added or updated since I left in '97. I took my core classes first, saving electives for last, which means that most of what I have to take now are upper-division electives, which promises to be a lot of fun.
You know you'll do great! This is a wonderful opportunity, and not having your sanity gnawed on daily by work will probably be a greater relief than you could've imagined. It's a brave thing to do, and with your motivation, I have no doubt it will lead to very interesting things - for all of us! *squishes*
*squishes moar* I really appreciate hearing that. I'm certainly feeling much less stressed than I was this summer, even though now I'm stressed in other ways, since the only person putting pressure on me to do anything other than lie on the couch is ... me!
I'm amused by the 'leaving for tea, returning with chocolate' bit :)
So how long does it take to do a page of Sun-cutter? They're really coming out very beautiful, btw. Even if I didn't enjoy the story (which I do), I would still read all your comics just for the art.
Right now it's working out to be something like 14-16 hours a page. I DON'T KNOW WHY EITHER. It takes me a solid day to color a page; it's also taking ridiculously long to do the setup and layout for the pages. To some extent, I think I used to know a lot of little tricks to speed it up that aren't second nature anymore. Also, I keep spending a lot of time on details that either become incomprehensible when reduced to web resolution, or get covered up with word balloons.
