New ultrasound cuff can stop internal bleeding on the battlefieldI am SO using this idea in Kismet. Awesome! Kinda eliminates the need for nanomachine technology.
Which for the record has lots of cool possibilities too.

Nanites are almost *too* powerful, really, especially after 700+ years of technological development. That's one of those things that I kinda just don't deal with, because the changes that nanite technology would likely wreak on society would be so vast that it would render the Kismetverse more alien than I really want to write. (Not that I would rule out the possibility of dealing with it in other stories, but Kismet just isn't meant to be that unrecognizable.)
