[ooc] rambling or something......no need to follow
I was playing around youtube, because I have absolutely nothing else to do, and I was watching (re-watching) some Larry videos. I love Larry and miss him, so I don't know why I make it worse by watching those things.
Anyway. I found one I hadn't seen before and it got me thinking about my Larry.
For Larry what really changed him was Sam. They were getting closer when Larry first moved back to be near him, but it wasn't until Jamie died that they became this team. Having sole custody of Sam, especially at the age Sam was and with the circumstances, really made Larry step up and focus. He was in a slump and he started to move out of it. He had to take care of Sam and a part of that was that he needed to take care of himself.
He certainly didn't make a complete 360, and he still had things to work though. He always has. But I believe it truly started with having to be Sam's mother as well as father. In fic I've done and RP we've experienced over the years, Larry has gotten even further. He's miles ahead of where he was when I first picked him up. He himself says he has Sam to thank for it.
So I thought....what would have become of Larry had Jamie not died? What if he hadn't found reason? What if, as Sam got older, he resented his father for not being there? What would it do to Larry to have the most important person in his life hate him?
My guess is he'd be pretty damn broken and different.
Of course these are just thoughts and I don't know that I'll do anything with it. I can't exactly write lately, and I can't do much with him RP-wise. This journal is all but dead, which is why I haven't bothered with the rename I was thinking of. So...don't expect a broken!Larry verse, it's just something I was thinking about....
Anyways, here's the video. For me his falling deeper wouldn't be mainly about Ally, but that's me. The video is pretty blurry, but it gets the point across.
Plus, I don't want to think about the mess of Sam Teenage Angst that would accompany it. He's already having issues in their normal verse.

I also want to include a side note in case someone missed it; Sam's mom did not die in canon. That is my canon for them.
