just right! i loved this story when i first read it, and recently found it again. a lovely piece of writing, no excess and everything in its place. the tone was light but not shallow, it felt very three dimensional to me. it had a pace that moved along so gracefully, enough to be full but not enough to trip over itself, and it led to a lovely ending. thanks for this! kj
