does anyone have a good marble run toy?  we are on our 2nd brand and I have not been happy with either (the pieces tend to be pretty rickety and fall apart easily).  we have only had the plastic kind, not the wooden ones (my nephew has the super expensive quadrilla sets and while they are awesome, I think they are

I would love to get this for my boys but I'm still so afraid that Leo will put a marble in his mouth. He totally knows not to but I just don't trust him!

LOL! yeah, H is very good about that kind of thing. hopefully by hanukkah later this year Leo will have outgrown that kind of behavior... it's a GREAT toy and I think Jake especially would love the building component too.

I just re-bought that set b/c I really think it is the best plastic one out there, all of the reviews of other ones say that they all have the same problem of falling apart, knocking down easily, etc... so I don't think there is a "failsafe" plastic one. this one has tons of pieces, comes with a guide to put it together, has lots of "action," and is cheap - $25 at toys r us and free 2 day shipping.

Liam loves the wooden one at the local high end toy store here. I have thought about it for him but right now they just have too much.

that sounds like what my nephew has - he is almost 9 now but got his first set around 6 (you can keep adding sets to expand it). I just think those sets are way beyond what is necessary for H right now. maybe it'll be a good xmas gift for Liam later this year, once you weed out what you currently have ;)
