Yet another proud moment for Gonzaga...

So I'm watching the John Roberts confirmation hearing, because I'm cool like that, and he is currently being questioned about his role in the Gonzaga v. Doe case!! Except he keeps pronouncing it wrong...like those damn basketball sports announcers ( Read more... )

Hahaha. I watch C-Span all the time. I think I get it because the community I live in uses cable lines to send out broadcast programming, and so the cable company includes CSPAN to torture into buying cable. They didn't count on me loving it. I always want to post about CSPAN in my lj, but I'm usually too embarassed.

I actually don't loathe Mr. Roberts, and I doubt that anyone better has even a chance of being nominated. However, this makes me tremble in fear for the next nomination.

If I had CSPAN I wouldn't get anything done. At all. Luckily the hearing was being broadcast on PBS yesterday, and we all know how I love my PBS.

Don't be embarrassed, like I said, it's all about embracing it and accepting one's nerd-dom :-)

I know, it is a scary time isn't it?!?!

Welcome to the East Coast. It is my personal goal to teach all the basketball-loving Tar Heels here in Chapel Hill the proper pronunciation of Gonzaga. On the bright side, most of them have heard of it. Note the "basketball-loving" description which can pretty widely describe this whole town...

You have no idea how nice it was to have knowledge of the GU basketball team during all my job interviews though.

Eh...I don't really care if people pronounce it wrong, other than the fact that it is annoying. Gonzaaaaaaaaaga doesn't hold a dear enough place in my heart to start defending the pronunciation of its name.

But Roberts supposedly worked on the case when it got to the Supreme Court, ya think he'd know how to pronounce it by now?!?!

I knew a Tar Heels fan in Colorado, who was from N.C. He'd watch Gonzaga games with me if I'd watch Tar Heel games with him! :-) Still, I'm not exactly sure what a Tar Heel is???

I just like to think that every time the Gonzaga basketball team wins big the value of my degree increases simply because of name recognition.

At least the basketball team increases your value in job interviews. I seriously maintain that belief ( ... )

I believe you about the job interviews...that's for sure!

As for the Tar Heels....uh, ok whatever they say.

That really makes no sense whatsoever! LOL, but it is kinda funny.
