On the other side of the mirrored glass, Lennie and Mike were tossing accusations at a suspect. It was the same old song and dance; squeeze the perp like an orange, in the hope that something would break. Then the torch would pass to Ben, a flurry of motions and hearings created in its wake.
Meanwhile, cruel deeds in the city of New York continued at lightning pace. Crimes were still being committed; innocent people were still dying.
Ben sighed, catching his reflection in the glass. “Book him,” he said to Don.
