He thought he’d made it clear to Arthur that he wasn’t interested. He wasn’t a politician, period. Yet Arthur had put Jack in charge when he resigned; he either had great faith in Jack’s abilities or it was carefully crafted revenge for the times they’d butted heads.
Right now, Jack was inclined to believe that it was the latter. He’d be happier working at a Wal-Mart, and Arthur knew it.
