So weather's an event now, eh? More of an annoyance than anything else, though serious flooding could only be an improvement in some areas. Do you know how long it takes someone to drown? There's some variation, actually...

A tree? Sir, are you a gardener? I have been looking for a good supply of roses for ages, now, at least three hours - could you help me?

What? No, I have no interest in those sorts of plants.

Ah, so you specialise, then? A sign of someone with a true calling in life!

Specialize? You could say that, I suppose. I only study what I find interesting.

I'm sure trees must be fascinating! Won't you tell me all about them?

Oh! Forgive me, Mr Gardener, I have been assuming too much! Then, pray tell, what plants do you like, since trees and roses both fail to find favour with you?

I'm a scientist, not a gardener. If I use plants at all, it's because I can derive some drug or poison from them.

A scientist! Why, how wonderful! And you use plants to create medicines and cure cancer! Yours is truly a noble profession, sir!

Noble? More positive a term than I usually hear. And cancer can't be cured, only treated in progressively different ways.

The lot of a scientist is a great one! To be constantly advancing the understanding and scope of the mind! Why, your work brings blessings on humanity, sir! (Humanity and assorted other species, I should say!)

You could take part if you're so enthused at the idea. I'm always accepting new subjects!

Why, thank you! With pleasure! I am honoured!

Good! Now, do you have any unusual abilities?

Countless ones, my dear noble scientist! I am proud to report that I am practically unique!

Unique? Well, name some of these skills of yours, and we'll see.
