I just had a major moment of wtf this weekend over what is and isn't public criticism and if it's allowed or not. I'm not telling anyone what to do in their own journals. I'd like people to have the same courtesy.
Hohum... May I ask what brought this on? I haven't been online much during the last week and I know people can be really horrid, especially if they think they'll get away with it, but really?
Concrit is called concrit for a reason. It's supposed to give you the means to improve on your medium and make yourself better. It doesn't crush people, it's supposed to make you better!
(I was just talking to friendshipper about how I wished there was a cross-fandom standard for those writers who do want concrit - "This journal welcomes constructive criticism" works nicely. Needs a banner or something!)

The real world can be tough enough without people intruding in on our own private little sanctuaries.
