It's always amused me - if you look at a British calendar it says on June 21 'Summer begins'. On June 23 it says 'Midsummer Day'. Which implies that the British summer lasts approximately five days! And actually, that's usually about right! :)
Yeah, the British calendar does seem a bit too illogical to me. That is why I prefer the Swedish one: it says that summer begins on June 1. Which means that Swedes have almost two month of summer! :)
