I've always heard that if you lose power that your freezer keeps food cold for up to 2 days, as long as you're not opening the door. Also don't know if it makes a difference if your freezer is separate from the fridge or not, so you might be safe.
A couple of years ago my fridge died, and it took a couple of days to get a new one installed. I had to throw out the raw meat in the freezer despite bags of ice, but everything else was okay.
