I hate that I can't cheer Comey's firing, because I can't help wondering what Comey might have found in the Russian probe, and how a new FBI director picked by Trump might spin what they have more in Trump's favor. Yes, I think Comey screwed our election and helped turn the tide against HRC, but that doesn't mean Trump owned him. More fuckery

The first thing I thought when I heard of Comey's firing was that Trump was trying to impede the Russian investigation. Fuckery is right.

I've been very impressed with Sally Yates. I'd love to see more from her.

He's trying to wear us down and we must not let his antics make us forget about Yates testimony and that we've got her on our side.

I've been frightened about the course this country has been on since for some time; this is truly disturbing to see Trump trying to consolidate power around himself with lies and intimidation. If our congress doesn't rise up (like now) to impeach, indict this man or do something I thing we'll become a dictatorship. I've been telling my mother that if Trump is still in office by next fall, he'll try to find a reason to suspend elections for the GOP to hold onto power. I think he's that dangerous.

Yes it was heartening in the extreme to see Yates. I wasn't planning to watch her testimony but ended up seeing a great deal of it.

I wasn't planning to watch Yates either and a friend urged me and I'm glad I did. I really hope more people start listening to and following Maxine Waters' lead and start pushing to get impeachment proceedings started.

I don't think that the timing was for that reason. It was because of how effective Sally Yates was - they couldn't discredit her, and it was clear that she and others were getting close to the truth.

Nixon tried to do the same thing and it backfired. A few Republicans have already started calling for an independent investigation. I'm not giving up hope yet. This, imo, was a huge misstep for Trump.

But I'm also not naive enough to believe that we are out of the woods and that enough Repubs won't back him to let him consolidate his power grab and turn us into a banana republic with a petty dictator.

Maxine Waters is calling for impeachment and I hope more will start following her lead. El Trumpo is exhausting, but we must not forget there are still more of us.
