I'm not going to mince words here: when Trump told a black woman reporter to go make a meeting between him and the CBC, he was saying "Girl, go get my coffee; you're my secretary and I own you." And that's in the capacity where "girl" stands in as demeaning of both blackness and sex. And "Are they friends of yours?" is "Don't all you people

Yeah. It's shocking but I gotta say Pence better be in deep consultation with McConnell and Ryan on bringing this farce to an end.

The only good part is that he puts some disarray among the Republicans--they will be much more effectual without him--less exhausting than his chaos, but they will be able to get more of their agenda through under Pence. Pence isn't going to dissuade the hate that has been unleashed. Even when Trump is impeached, the genie isn't going back in the bottle, I'm afraid.

Yes indeed. INDEED. My brother and mother have both encountered blatant anti-Semitism over the years, and the thought of it (and any other bigotry) being sanctioned from "on high" is sickening.

A friend of mine has concluded that Trump isn't a politician, but solely an Entertainer. She claims his constant goal is to get a REACTION to everything he says and does, ANY reaction will do, so he never feels invisible or less powerful. So the only thing he puts his energy into is saying and doing chaotic things that get reactions. And this is our president.

He's a shock jock. It's all he does and it's why Howard Stern loves him.

Every time I think he can't shock me any more, he comes up with something like this. I hope these investigations turn up something that can help to get him out of office asap. He's already done so much damage I can't imagine what will happen if he is allowed to continue. It's terrifying.

It's completely exhausting. The problem is I'm only slightly less terrified of Pence.

People compare what's going on now with Watergate, but that happened in Nixon's second term. Trump is imploding after a month. I believe Lora is right and he'll be gone soon. But that would leave us with Pence. Unless they can all be tried for treason and locked up. What vile people they are.

Totally vile. I expect they can impeach him now since he admitted to authorizing Flynn to talk to Putin about Obama's sanctions while it was still Obama's admin, but McConnell and Ryan won't bother to unless he becomes too inconvenient for them. Pence can't gather the coalition Trump can for 2020.

He's not only ineffectual, he's embarrassing. Never before has a U.S. president been ridiculed by the entire world the way Trump has. He's making history, but not in a good way. I want to see him go, but I fear we won't fare much better with Pence. If only there was a do-over button for this election that would allow the people's choice for president to take office.

I still think he stole the election in the precincts without paper trails, but even his low approval rate in the polls is still too many people who are OK with him.
