Memoriam to General Leia and Carrie Fisher

I couldn't do a memorial post to Carrie Fisher earlier this week due to LJ shenanigans and I'm still feeling the need, so here it is. I'm just so sad to see her go so young with so much left to write and act and enjoy. Besides looking forward to seeing her play General Leia some more, and I know we already have her filmed for the next film, I ( Read more... )

What a truly lovely tribute.

Shiremom, Pippin, and I just watched the ball drop in Times Square (although it's still only 9 p.m. here.)

♥ ♥ to you and the kitties!

Thank you for that lovely tribute. I do believe it was a blessing for mother to follow daughter so soon after she passed.

You're welcome, Addie. Trying to get through and come to terms with such a grief when in your 80's is so cruel. I wish I had faith in an afterlife, but at least I can imagine them together quibbling and laughing.

Oh, what a beautiful post. :) General Organa will always be my fave too. And I haven't gotten through her books yet, but I'd really like to. And I love that she and her mother were so close despite a troubled history. It gives me a glimmer of hope for my own difficult relationship w/my mom. I don't know that any mom copes all that well w/having a bipolar daughter who does strange things...it may have been as tough for Debbie as it is for most moms in those shoes, and worse in that this is all happening in the public eye, 24/7/365. The fact that she loved Carrie so much...I try to think about that when I have trouble w/my mom.

Another beautiful legacy they left us.

I really, really hope 2017 is better than 2016 was. OMG, lots of room for improvement.
