You learn sign language? I didn't know that. It sounds interesting. *wants to know more*

Yeah, I just started it but I like it a lot so far!

A friend of mine back at school was about to become a hearing aid audiologist/consultant (or whatever the correct English expression for that profession is) and teached me the sign language alphabet once. But I've already forgotten most of it again though. :(

Yeah, it's one of those things where it's hard to remember if you don't use it. But it's not that hard to pick up again.

The thing I hate about Amazon Student is that they only deal with textbooks in the traditional sense, like the huge science textbooks. I'm a Humanities student and *my* textbooks are trade and academic nonfiction books, which don't count. :(

I got my textbook, which was an anthology and they covered it. I also got a fiction book with it. (Which was for school, but they don't know that.)

half.com = better than amazon \o/

Yes and no. There were some that were better priced, but Amazon shipped it faster than anything from half.com and the shipping was free.

Disaster fic?
Oh, really?

I really want to sign up for Queensland auctions, but I'm not sure I've got the time, and God knows I don't have any money to donate, so I feel so unhelpful just sitting here, and I've been dying to help since I saw this one story about a thirteen-year-old boy who died saving his younger brother, and ugh. D;

The prompt is disaster but we can interpret it anyway possible (a disastrous date, for instance.)

D: I didn't hear about that. :( :( :(

Hm, I will be looking forward to that, very much. :)

Mhm, if you're feeling particularly interested in a good cry, there's the Tumblr post I saw here. I'll admit that I cried. The worst part is that I'm constantly seeing pictures of it on Tumblr, and it makes me so sad. But thankfully, some people have said that for so many reblogs of the pictures and stuff, they'll donate so much money to the cause, which helps. D;

It's so sad about the floods. I'm definitely bidding where I can too.
