Sometimes routers just go down, unplug it and plug it back in, and maybe press the reset button on your cable modem(or dls whatever) and try again lul.

yeahhhh, i've kinda tried all that already, but thank you anyway for your advice. i still regard whatever you have to say even remotely related to computers very highly. unfortunately, i think i will have to call the geeks. sigh. sigh. sigh. lol.
