1. Because apparently "budgeting" doesn't fall under the heading of "having domestic skillz", I now belong to the "eh, screw it" school of managing your money. To wit, I now own a copy of this. Eeeeeeeeeeee ( Read more... )

Do I ever do anything about shoes? :D

I called 'acause I have the Clyde Pharr Aeneid that you guys are using and don't need it. Have you bought yours yet? 'Cause I will either sell or loan it to you, whatever you like.

TEAM LENTILS FOR THE WIN.

Yours sounds excellent as well! I will have to try it. This one I think would benefit from a little more dilution, maybe add some water and crank up the vegetable content a bit (although if you do that you'll be able to feed an army of hungry undergraduates).

yummy! I might have to try this out next time veggie-giving rolls around, since I'm decidedly BAD at bringing vegan food to those events.

I just... love... cheese... and... icecream... is that so wrong?

heavens, no. I think this might be the only vegan recipe I have ever cooked (go me, hey?), largely because of the supreme awesomeness of dairy. I'll just point out that it (a) hasn't been tasted by anyone but me and (b) might need to be diluted a tiny bit, because it's pretty intense (although the rice helps that).

What is this veggie-giving thing you speak of?

veggie-giving is a once-a-year vegetarian potluck that takes place sometime after thanksgiving but before all of us go back to school. It's really a wonderful event - large dinner, and lots of post-dinner catching up and group cuddling. To say nothing about mulled cider!

it's also traditionally held at my friend sarah martin's house, who is an amazing individual... but she has a really fun and excitable black lab named Winslow who I'm hopelessly in love with... Every time I visit him he attempts to eat my entire arm! *swoons*

p.s. kudos for asking! I have this hideous tendency of forgetting people haven't had all my life experiences and don't know what I'm referencing about 2/3 of the time. But it's great!

Oh, hey, that sounds like a lot of fun. (Especially the mulled cider. :D)

My cousins have a yellow lab who is rambunctious to the extreme. It's pretty awesome. :D

Hee. I'm guessing I make references to stuff that mystifies you all the time - please do feel free to jump in and beg me to elucidate. It's totally not a problem.

Incidentally, I fed kurrs some of the remaining stew and he pronounced it good, so you can probably cook it without fear of my sole unsupported opinion now if you so desire. ;)
