hansons_angel, hey my new friend, I'm glad you found the way to my story :o)
So ladies, I promised to hurry up with the next chapter and here it is ...

raloria From time to time Jared checked his watch and as the minutes passed the time Jensen was supposed to meet him on stage, he was somehow relieved that seemingly Clif had been able to convince his friend to stay in bed and on the other hand worried, because that also meant that he’d gotten worse.
The actor was curious though what the convention crew would come up with and how Kathy dealt with the fact that they had to reschedule the rest of the day.
He tried to concentrate on his answers when he saw the door open in the corner of his eye and Misha approached the stage.
‘Poor Misha, so it’s your turn to step in for Jensen,’ Jared thought, but as soon as he saw the serious expression on his co-stars face, he knew something was horribly wrong.
The people in front of the stage looked surprised as they expected Jensen to show up but started laughing as Misha bent over to whisper something in Jared’s ear.
The younger actor’s eyes widened and with a mumbled “Sorry” he jumped up and ran off the stage.
Misha turned to the crowd and said: “Sorry, but we have an emergency.” Then he followed him.
Jared wasn’t able to process a clear thought, he only knew he had to get to the hospital no matter how.
With Clif gone already, he decided to cover the three blocks by foot, when he heard Misha yelling from behind.
“Jared wait, we’ll take my car.”
He slowed down so that the other man was able to catch up with him.
“Thanks man!”
In less than a minute they sat in Misha’s car and left the parking lot of the hotel.
“I knew it! I knew it wasn’t just a stomach bug, dammit!” Jared hit the dashboard with his fists.
“He’s such a stubborn son of a bitch!”
Helplessly he looked over to Misha in the driver seat.
“He’s gonna be ok. They take care of him now,” the man reassured his friend.
As soon as the car slowed down in front of the hospital, Jared jumped out and busted into the ER.
Clif and Jim paced the floor of the waiting area as the tall actor came running through the doors.
“Where’s Jensen?”
The two men stepped at his side and guided him to a chair.
“Calm down, Jared. They took him to the OR already for an emergency surgery,” Jim gently rubbed the younger mans back.
“Emergency surgery?” Jared gasped and started to hyperventilate.
“Easy boy, slow breaths, in and out, in and out … that’s it. You can do it!”
Jared closed his eyes and focused on his breathing. When he opened them again he looked at three worried faces.
“I’m ok,” he whispered.
They all turned around to see the hotel doctor, who’s name was Paul Diaz, as they had found out in the meantime, approaching the small crowd after he had spoken to a young man in blue scrubs at the entrance to the ER.
“Any news,Dr.Diaz?” Jim asked with a shaky voice.
The doctor took a deep breath and looked at the four men standing in front of him, anxiously waiting for news of their friend.
“Well, good news first,” he started “It looks like we got your friend here in time. Dr.Hatch, who’s operating Jensen, is an old friend of mine and he’s in the best hands now.”
The four men stared silently at the older man, waiting for more to come.
Dr.Diaz sighed, he knew he had to break the rest of the news no matter what, as the actual condition of Jensen would be revealed any time soon.
So he continued: “As I feared Jensen’s appendix already ruptured, explaining the extreme tension of his abdominal wall. With the fluids spilling into the abdomen, an infection is most likely to happen. They will put him on strong antibiotics as soon as he’s out of surgery, to keep the infection from spreading throughout his whole body. The next 48 hours are critical, but he’s young, healthy and seems to be a fighter, so his chances for a full recovery are good.”
In Jared’s head the doctor’s words were swirling .
Ruptured - infection - spreading - 48 hours - critical - full recovery!
Along with the words, everything around him started spinning and he felt as if the air was pushed out of his lungs.
He wanted to say something but the only sound he heard was his blood rushing in his ears.
His knees buckled and he saw various arms reaching out for him in slow motion. Then everything turned black.
After Dr.Diaz finished explaining the situation to Jensen’s friends, he saw the color draining out of the tallest man’s face and heard him gasping for air. A second later the young man went down.
Clif, who stood right next to Jared, reached out for the actor and got a hold on him before he hit the floor.
Misha and Jim, following his lead, grabbed on to the tall form and together they lowered him down to a gurney that Dr.Diaz produced out of nowhere.
“Let’s move him to one of the examination rooms.”
A young nurse appeared and showed them the way to one of the cubicles.
“Hey Jared, you hear me?” Clif gently slapped the actor’s face, suddenly being aware of the déjà-vu of doing exactly the same thing to his other protégé just an hour ago.
Jared’s eyes fluttered open and he tried to sit up.
“Easy there, young man,” Dr.Diaz pushed him back down on the gurney, while he nodded over to the nurse, who was ready to take the blood-pressure of their patient.
“What happened?” the young man blinked confused and took in his surroundings.
“You just fainted, big guy,” Misha answered with a small grin.
“Did not,” came the mumbled reply.
Jared closed his eyes, then suddenly jumped up as the memories of the last minutes came back with full force.
“Where’s Jensen? I gotta see Jensen!” he yelled, desperately pushing strong arms away that tried to hold him down.
He nearly fell off the gurney but the many hands were too strong and held him in place, while he heard Jim’s soothing voice.
“Jared, you gotta calm down. It’s ok boy. They are taking good care of Jensen. He’s gonna be fine, but you have to calm down!”
The young man nodded slowly and took a couple of deep breaths.
“That’s it boy, you’re doing great,” Jim smiled down at him.
“You sound like Bobby,” Jared weakly said to the older actor, but visibly relaxed.
The older man looked at him and replied: “Yeah, I heard that before,” but his smile wavered as the memory of Jensen in agonizing pain, calling Bobby for help, came back into his mind.
“Well old man, you look like you’re gonna fall down any minute, too, so you better put your sorry ass in that chair,” with that Misha pushed Jim down on one of the plastic chairs.
“Oh lord, our angel is taking over!” Clif grinned and looked mischievously from one man to the other. He chuckled and a second later all of them burst into laughter.
The nurse and the doctor eyed them suspiciously.
“I guess we are not needed here at the moment,” Dr.Diaz couldn’t keep a straight face either.
“I’m gonna see if I can get some news from Jensen. And you … “ he looked at Clif, Misha and Jim “you better make sure that this young man stays where he is, until his blood-pressure is back to normal.”
“Yes, Sir!” all three of them replied.
“Actors!” The doctor rolled his eyes and vanished with a confused nurse in tow.
“So guys, I definitely need some caffeine now! Sounds like this is gonna be a long wait and I’m not planning on going anywhere before I know what’s up with Jensen,” Misha looked around.
“Guess that makes two of us,”came the immediate reply from Jared.
“Boy I don’t wanna be picky, but you’re gonna stay put until the Doc tells you that you can move again,” Jim scolded.
“Ok, looks like all four of us are gonna be stuck here for a while, so let’s get that coffee,” Clif walked over to Misha and just when they wanted to head down to the cafeteria, Dr.Diaz returned.
Everybody held his breath and waited for the doctor to speak.
“Your friend just came out of surgery and they’re taking him to the ICU now, so they can monitor him closely during the next 24 hours. I talked to Dr.Hatch and he said the surgery went well and that he’s quite optimistic.”
Jared blew out a shaky breath he wasn’t even aware he had been holding.
“That’s good news, or?”
“I’d say that’s the best we can hope for at the moment,” Dr.Diaz agreed.
“Can … can I see him?” the young man tried to get up again, but strong hands held him back.
“How are you feeling?”
“Good ... really! I’m not even dizzy anymore.”
“Alright, let me get the nurse to take your blood-pressure again and then we’ll see.”
Clif and Misha followed the doctor out to get the coffee, while Jim stayed at Jared’s side.
A couple minutes later the nurse returned with Dr.Diaz and took Jared’s blood-pressure.
“110 to 70,” she informed the doctor and left again.
“Well that’s much better than before. Just take it slow when you are getting up. I guess some of that coffee, your friends are carrying around, would help too,” he was rewarded with a huge smile from his patient and went on: “Listen, I gotta go back to the hotel now, but I’ll make sure that a nurse will get you as soon as they have Jensen settled in the ICU. Dr.Hatch promised me to keep you informed about your friends condition.”
“Thanks Doc, just... thanks for everything, you know …”Jim shook the doctor’s hand.
“You’re welcome, I’m glad I could help.”
The other three men joined the handshaking and with an “I’ll be back later” Dr.Diaz left them alone.
“Coffee time!” Misha handed out the steaming cups and they all fell silent, while savoring the hot liquid.
“Geez, we should inform Jensen’s family and Eric and the crew!” Jim suddenly said.
“Heck yeah, you’re right, man. I call his family and friends,” Jared offered.
Misha, Jim and Clif agreed to inform Eric and the others from set.
They spent the next minutes on their phones, telling the news and trying to diminish the worries of friends and family members.
Half an hour later they had successfully informed everybody, as a different nurse entered.
“Gentlemen, I’m supposed to bring you to Mr.Ackles,” she said.
Jared immediately jumped off the gurney.
“Whoa dude, remember what the doc said? Take it easy man, you won’t do any good if you end up in a hospital bed yourself,” Misha shot a concerned look over at his friend.
“I’m fine, really! Let’s go!"
The four men followed the nurse to the ICU.
In front of room 112 she stopped.”Ok, only one at a time and just for a couple of minutes.”
Jared looked at his friends.
“Go ahead, man. We’ll wait here,” Jim pushed him towards the door.
The young actor took a deep breath and tried to prepare himself for the scene, he would have to face, when entering the room.
Jensen lying in a hospital bed, white as the sheets, beeping machines surrounding him, with various wires and IV-lines attached to his body.
He was immediately reminded of the first episode of season 2 “In my time of dying”.
Jared swallowed hard at the view of his best friend.
He hesitated for a moment, then grabbed one of the chairs and positioned it as near as possible alongside the bed.
He took the right hand of Jensen into his hands and started stroking it gently. With a deep sigh he let his eyes travel over the pale face of his friend.
A couple of tears started their way down his cheeks and he whispered: “Jensen!”
