I was off today, and so, I thought with unwarranted optimism, I would finish the couple of uni things I've got to do, and get lots of remix done. Thus far, as far as I can tell, I've spent a lot of time on the phone (we did get a merit for one of our group projects, which is cool), watched a lot of tv, and generally got nothing accomplished. Also, I looked up Khalil Gibran's The Prophet cause it sounded really familiar, it's a book of short. . not really stories, more like teachings. . .the inside of my book says it's his "statement about the truths of human experience."

Damn right. We should start having badges and stuff made. If enough people believe it's happening, maybe he'll just have to accept that it is. ... It's a constant source of wonder to me that I've not been invited into the highest level of politics with this brain of mine.

Yeah, this seems to be the consensus. It sounds like it might either be really interesting or crazy. lyras recommends it, so I think I'll give it a try.

I can recommend The Prophet. It's almost like a (sensible) self-help book in poetic form. Full of sage advice on living, and short :).

Well, it was one of the options for set texts when I was doing higher English, and I'm automatically suspicious of anything that that exam board thought should be studied. I didn't actually have to, because our class picked something else, but some of my friends did, and the parts I read that year did not fill me with joy. I'm sure it's okay, but given the number of books there are in the world, I'd be happy to miss it.
