Last night, I went to see Take That. (They were and are a British boyband pop sensation, for those of you who don't know.)

I wasn't particularly excited; I mostly went because it had a sort of big event feel about it, and my friends could get me a ticket. It was amazing. Even the new, imo awful stuff sounded much better live. And Robbie Williams ( Read more... )

Robbie's clearly pretty messed up, but get him on a stage and you know where he belongs. I've never seen anyone so obviously ecstatic to be performing. Although I suppose it could just be the coke talking. :P Anyway, glad you got to go!

It's sort of sad--he seems so unhappy most of the time, and underneath all the bravado and ego, I get the sense that there's a really nice guy there. but you're right. On a stage, there's almost nobody more at home these days, and it's awesome to be a part of.

Also, hi! I apologise for the ridiculously late reply. I am apparently a more terrible LJer than even I suspected. *g*

It makes me sad, too. I hope he figures things out some day, and not in the Amy Winehouse way.
