Thanks ♥ I'm glad you appreciate my dorkiness. Heh.
Yeah... I'm glad you think fan-made things should also be professional and well-made... I know it's very demanding but... but... *big bambi eyes*
Yes, the mermaid is very pretty.♥ She's from a book of copyright-free images I have, it comes with a DVD. Very nice to use for things like this. XD I'm glad you like the map, I don't know all the ins and outs of Photoshop very well. I need more practice. XD
Ah, but of course your islands must be near the Philippines, heh heh.
Anyway, it's not really surprising that you researched this much. Personally, I'd never bother to go that far for fanfiction (all I do is get compelled to re-read sections of whatever the source material is) because, for the most part, I only care about characters by the end of the day. I always figure I can always make up any poisons--using your example--that the story requires.
Mind you, after writing a necrophilia fic, I was driven to look up and find out if certain actions were possible post-mortem...
Moving along, I am kind of surprised that you posted this entry about the research you did.
Of course. ♥ It's such a cliche, but it's good to write about things you've actually experienced, or at least slightly familiar with. There's a better chance of being able to pull it off.
I remember we already had that discussion about the poisons. Heh. And I'm not surprised that you're not surprised...
Well, I made this post because I did say I'd put up that map. It just seemed weird to have a map without any explanation at all why I knew this stuff. And then the post grew longer... hmm. I know author's notes often suck, and is often considered masturbatory, but what the hell.
WOW! Just damn woman that's a lot of research for a fanfic!
I love to research a little Japanese history or origin of words sometimes just because I like to learn stuff as well as write, but this is above and beyond anything I've ever considered doing.
It's very impressive. And fun that you shared it. :D

Anyway, I'm glad you love reading up on history too. And word and phrase origins just rocks. <3
I'm glad you don't think this was a total waste of space on the internets.
